Contemporary Handleless Kitchen Installation in East Leake, Nottinghamshire

Contemporary handleless taupe kitchen in East Leake with large island and herringbone flooring.

At Duffield Kitchens, we recently completed this stunning contemporary handleless kitchen installation in East Leake, combining minimalist design with warm natural textures and practical everyday functionality.

This project was designed around clean lines, open space and a premium modern feel, while still creating a warm and inviting family kitchen. The result is a beautifully balanced space featuring taupe handleless cabinetry, dramatic dark stone-effect worktops and bespoke oak display shelving.

A Minimalist Handleless Kitchen with Warm Contrast

The brief for this East Leake project was clear from the beginning. The client wanted a sleek and uncluttered kitchen that still felt warm and homely rather than cold or clinical.

To achieve this, we paired soft taupe handleless cabinetry with dark textured worktops and matching splashbacks, creating a striking contrast throughout the room. The addition of natural oak shelving helped soften the overall look and introduced warmth and texture into the design.

The large central island became the focal point of the kitchen, providing seating, preparation space and integrated storage all in one clean contemporary feature.

Premium Materials and Bespoke Features

This kitchen includes several bespoke details that elevate the overall finish and practicality of the space.

Key features include:

  • Contemporary taupe handleless kitchen cabinetry

  • Large statement island with integrated seating

  • Dark stone-effect worktops and splashbacks

  • Built-in Siemens appliances

  • Ceiling-mounted extractor system

  • Bespoke oak display shelving

  • Integrated wine cooler

  • Herringbone flooring throughout

  • Modern black sink and tap

  • Open-plan kitchen and dining layout

The combination of materials works particularly well in natural light, with the darker worktops adding depth and character against the lighter cabinetry.

Designed Around Open-Plan Living

One of the most important aspects of this project was ensuring the kitchen worked perfectly with the home’s open-plan layout.

The oversized island creates a natural social hub within the room, making the kitchen equally suited for entertaining guests, family dining or everyday use.

The ceiling-mounted extractor also helped preserve the clean uninterrupted sight lines across the space, avoiding the visual bulk of a traditional cooker hood.
