Brass has been a sought after material finish for a few years now, but remains as popular ever for 2020.

While it's traditionally been used in modern and industrial style taps, there's a move towards brass appearing in more traditional styles too, brning with it a warmth and sense of grandeur. Sink and tap specialist Caple’s Frampton model is n ow available in this Antique Brass finish, for example.

Choosing a durable design is key for this metallic finish, so look for designs in solid stainless steel.

A touch of technology

Installing smart technology in the home is an investment in saving time and adding functionality to your home - and a smart kitchen tap is no exception. Boiling water taps may require a higher upfront cost, but they'll also save on energy bills in the long run as they're 10 times more efficient than boiling a kettle for your hot water needs. Taps are also available with filtered water technology, saving on plastic bottle waste and removing microplastic from your drinking water.

The new look of the Zedra tap from Grohe offers a more streamlined version of its distinctive shape with an array of new contemporary features. It's blade technology has a triple spray pattern, which allows the user to choose from three different types of spray and pressure. It also features touch technology to activiate the water flow by touching your wrist or forearm to the spout of the tap – perfect for preventing cross-contamination.
