Charcoal & Dove Grey Shaker - Mansfield, Nottingham

Updated: May 18, 2023

THE BRIEF

The clients, a young family, were renovating their existing property and converting their basement into an open plan kitchen/living/dining space. They also had a boot room leading off this room. They liked the idea of having a kitchen in two colours, with the island in a dark colour and the rest of the units light.

The Dove Grey colour brought light to the space which could’ve become dark, being the basement. They were keen on having an island with some seating.

DESIGNER'S TIPS

A tall bank of units ensured maximum storage space and having the ovens side by side meant cooking was easier and more practical for the busy parents. The clients and I decided against having wall units on the hob run to make the space feel bigger. A dresser unit in the corner of the kitchen makes use of an awkward space.
